Grown in Bundibugyo. Harvested nearly year-round.
Our beans come from Bundibugyo District in the Rwenzururu sub-region — the heartland of Ugandan cocoa, accounting for around 70 percent of national production from smallholdings of one to two hectares. Uganda exports upwards of 30,000 tonnes of cocoa beans a year, and unlike single-main-crop origins, Ugandan cocoa is picked roughly twice a month year-round.
- Near-continuous harvest. Peaks run September to February and March to August, with picking roughly twice a month in between.
- Fermented & sun-dried at origin. Processed at source, then graded and quality-checked before packing.
- Kampala export operation. Graded, sacked and palletised at our own facility — not a broker chain.
